A little background.
|
|
|
|
I have been working as an outside consultant since June 2002 with a variety of companies some
of which are listed on the "Companies Supported" button on this website. Here is a little
slice of life before that.
|
|
| 1996 - 2002 |
Worked for Chase Industries formerly Economax Manufacturing as the IT manager.
Wrote original website for the company, wrote all front-end applications for sales and order management.
(wrote A/R, A/P, G/L and Payroll for this company when I was working with CompuCount listed below.)
Managed all servers and SQL databases for the portland division, also wrote a inventory/barcode package
for the redmond branch, which I still maintain. For the last two years of my employment with Chase, I worked as a
SQL data minor for the CFO in Cincinnati. (accounting reports)

|
| 1987 - 1996 |
Worked for Compucount, a CPA firm here in Portland.
My duties were simple, write as many accounting applications as you can, as fast as you can.
Wrote and helped develop all forms of accounting applications. A/R, A/P, G/L, Job costing, Inventory.
Developed mostly in Microsoft visual basic with some Microsoft Access at the
end of my employment with them. I am still associated with them in that I help them out from time to time
with applications and other problems. They are a great bunch of people, give them a call if you ever
need help with your taxes.

|
| 1979 - 1987 |
Worked for Kaplan paper company, fist as a driver and finished as plant manager.
The last three years I was there I also ran a Printing business from the basement
of my house. At that time I started writing applications on my trustee "Tandy TRS80"
to keep track of all the transactions that comes with a business. Thats what led
me to talk with Compucount. I realized that paper is too heavy to haul around
and I hated printing.
